Arsenal legend Ian Wright makes Man Utd vs Liverpool prediction

Former Arsenal and England midfielder Ian Wright has backed Liverpool to a crucial victory over Manchester United in the highly-anticipated Premier League clash.

The Premier League champions travel to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon in sixth place, four points behind fourth-placed West Ham.

Jurgen Klopp’s side face a tough battle to qualify for next season’s Champions League with five games remaining.

Manchester United are sure to finish in second place no matter what happens this afternoon but will be hoping to hurt Liverpool’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League and delay Manchester City’s title celebrations.

Wright believes the Old Trafford game will be a great one, predicting that Liverpool will take all three points despite a difficult season.

Speaking on The Kelly and Wrighty Show, he said:

‘Even though you’d have to say Manchester United are going to make the Champions League, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to win a trophy.

‘I think that’s going to be in the forefront of his mind so I’m going with Liverpool. I think it’s vitally important for Liverpool to win the game because they need to get themselves back in the Champions League race.

‘It’s good there’s so much on this game because there’s been a few draws recently and sometimes it hasn’t lived up to the hype. I think this one has got the potential to be very good.’
