Manchester City have announced that stars Gabriel Jesus and Kyle Walker have been diagnosed with COVID-19
The two players and two other unnamed staff members will now begin quarantine.
City host Newcastle at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow but will be without striker Gabriel Jesus and defender Walker.
A statement from the club read: “Manchester City FC can confirm that Gabriel Jesus, Kyle Walker, and two members of staff have tested positive for COVID-19.
“All four personnel will now observe a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine.
“Everyone at the Club wishes our colleagues a speedy recovery over the Christmas period ahead of their return to work, training and competition.”
Walker and Jesus will miss the games against Newcastle, Everton and the New Year’s trip to Chelsea.
City will then play Manchester United in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup on January 6.
