Chelsea v Man United
Venue: Stamford Bridge
Time: 7:30pm EAT
Referee: Anthony Taylor
It will be interesting to see whether José Mourinho comes at Stamford Bridge with caution on his mind given Chelsea’s annihilation in Rome in midweek. Antonio Conte, stung actually by that shame, will expect a reaction from his side, however much of that depends on how N’Golo Kanté prepares on the game and whether he announces himself fit to play. The return of Nemanja Matic and, to a lesser degree, Juan Mata add another layer of interest to a conceivably ignitable event.
Midfielder N’Golo Kante returned to training this week after he missed six games for hamstring injury and it set to be part of today’s game against Manchester United.
Victor Moses is still injured but skipper Gary Cahill should return to the team after missing the win at Bournemouth.
Jesse Lingaard is out for Manchester United in the wake of being substituted amid the win over Benfica due to a back issue.
Both Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young are set to return subsequent to being refreshed.
